Abstract :
Measurements of charge-transfer inefficiency have been carried out using 3-phase surface-channel c.c.d.s fabricated on (100) and (111) orientation subtrates. The occurrence of two loss mechanisms, namely backward-flow loss and surface-state loss, is described and the ultimate performance limitations are discussed.
