Abstract :
The paper gives measured erosion rates for copper cathodes on which 100 A arcs have been rotated in atmosphericpressure air. The erosion rate is shown to vary in a complex manner with water-cooling flow rate, with some correlation between maxima in cathode temperature and in erosion rate.
