Abstract :
Now a days, wireless mesh networks carry traffic with heterogeneous transmission rates. Reliability of packet and consistency of route for traffic is big challenging problem. Still it is suffering within unfairness with increasing number of hops and intra-flow behaviors with high transmission rates. Results in more collision, and decreasing throughput and increase end-to-end delay due to lacking of optimization with flow assignment and routing. In this paper presents method Metric Aware Flow Assignment (MAFA) which performs selection of best path with sensing their link´s packet delivery ratio and automatic rate selection using rate adaption. This decision is based on statistics provided by routing metric. The purpose of coordinating decision for increasing reliability of packets with different transmission rates and choose optimum route according to flow with different packet size. MFAR helps to avoid reconfigurations frequently, so that it would help to save energy and improvement of admitted flow much higher. Simulation results show that up gradation of performance with parameters such as end-to-end delay, channel efficiency, and available capacity in wireless mesh network.
