Abstract :
The paper describes a method for solving steady-state and transient electromagnetic-field problems in certain multi-region induction devices, which uses only a very small amount of analysis. In general, the device is modelled by means of a nonuniform transmission line consisting of a large number of T-circuits in cascade. Circuit-analysis computer packages can be used to solve for the circuit quantities, and hence the field quantities, at all nodes in the line. Neither higher transcendental functions nor operational methods are required.
