Abstract :
This routine is suitable for inclusion in engineering-design programs that involve analysis of transients, whether these are to be batch run or interactive, and where speed, low storage and certainty of result are essential. Errors depend on register length, and 11 accurate decimal figures are obtained for 20th-degree polynomials with distinct roots and double-length working. Algol, Fortran and Basic versions of the program are given.
