Abstract
Gratings at widely different wavelengths (250 nm) are written with single chirped and unchirped phase masks. The tuned gratings are assessed for repeatability and characteristics. Under the current arrangement, it is demonstrated that a grating may be inscribed at wavelengths separated by over 250 nm to within 1 nm. It is shown that the bandwidth of the chirped grating changes as the wavelength is tuned, becoming smaller at wavelengths shorter than the chirped phase-mask designed wavelength, and broader as the inscribed grating is shifted to longer wavelengths
