Dbpc inhibited oil in semisealed transformers

WIDESPREAD INTEREST in 2,6 ditertiary butyl para cresol (DBPC) as an inhibitor for transformer oils has resulted in extensive usage, largely based on evaluation by laboratory means. Earlier studies reported in a paper by the authors¹ on long operation of small semi-sealed transformers indicated that evaluation in actual transformers was desirable and also that useful information might be obtained from accelerated operation.
