Abstract :
CARTRIDGE FUSES are used principally on a-c circuits, but they do not have interrupting ratings other than may be implied by their having met the 10,000-ampere d-c short-circuit test which forms part of the “Standard for Fuses.”1 The growth and interconnection of many industrial and shipboard circuits, in which fault currents may be considerably greater than 10,000 amperes, has created a demand for fuses with proved adequate interrupting capacity.
