Abstract
A method is described for quickly and reliably detecting the VSB (vestigial side band) mode (2/4/8T/8/16) of a received VSB signal. This method can easily be implemented as a subsystem in a VSB receiver chip. Its performance at various signal to noise (S/N) ratios is analyzed and confirmed by simulation
