Abstract :
Path redundancy is one of XML data redundancy, which influences application of XML for data representation and exchange. Considering the characteristic of hiberarchy, we propose a way to convert an arbitrary DTD into a well-designed one. Algorithms for eliminating path redundancy both like FD and MVD in XML document are proposed in this paper, which has important theoretic significance and practical value to XML schema normalization.
