Abstract :
Kron´s tensorial approach has been followed in the analysis to study the six phase delta-fork connected Mercury Arc Rectifier Circuit. The connection matrix of the rectifier transformer has been developed starting from the coil current and neglecting the magnetizing current with due consideration of firing order of anodes. The impedance tensor and voltage matrices are also developed and r.m.s. leakage impedance drop is calculated and study has then been extended to determine the performance characteristics of the rectifier. The theoretical results are verified experimentally.
