The design and implementation of firewall based on FreeBSD

Let all inner network computers share limited public IP address, and takes good care of the security of inner network are very important in network management. This paper analyses FreeBSD´s features, introduces to implement software firewall on FreeBSD, and implements software proxy server with Squid which can provide high security policy. Compares with the software implementation based on the Windows operating system platform, the FreeBSD scheme is more efficient, stable and secure.
