Abstract :
A simple new method to determine unknown coupled line parameters (the even- and odd-mode characteristic impedances Ze and Z o and phase velocities Ve and Vo) is presented. The Ze and Zo can be determined by the amplitudes of the first reflected and transmitted waveforms and the V e and Vo by the delay times of the second reflected and transmitted waveforms. Either Ve<Vo or Ve>Vo can be distinguished easily
