Abstract :
The author describes an erasable programmable ROM (EPROM)-based TV sync generator design method which provides both flexibility and low cost. The basic idea of the design is to prestore all of the designed sync waveforms in an EPROM and then generate these waveforms by using conventional digital circuits. The generated sync signals´ parameters can be programmed easily by using the different prestore codes. The sync signals are so complicated that the EPROM´s capacity must be very large if all lines of the waveforms are stored. In order to reduce the required memory space, an iterate-line method is introduced by using the relationships among the sync signals
