Abstract :
Producing interactive chatbots usually involves complex sentence parsing approaches that are beyond the scope of material that can be handled in introductory CS courses. In this paper, a simple framework is presented for parsing a sentence from a user during a chat with a chatbot using an "answer matching" strategy that is not at a level of complexity that is too difficult for an introductory CS student.
