Abstract :
This article discusses the basic ideas of a modern device ¿the junction transistors. Being a very sensitive device, the materials used in it, the process of generating charge carriers, the junction characteristics, difference in PNP and NPN transistors etc. have been fully discussed. Junctions being the most sensitive regions which may easily be damaged by excess current or voltages and by transients sometimes occuring in electrical and electronic instruments comprising of these sensitive devices.
