Abstract :
A novel noise measurement system for the simultaneous determination of the complex impedance and the noise temperature of microwave one-port devices is introduced. Its unique measurement capability is provided by using a specific excitation of the device under test (DUT) from a noise injection circuit at the input of an rf total power radiometer. Due to power measurement of interfering noise waves its operation is like that of a six-port or multistate reflectometer, thus leading to similar techniques for the system calibration and accuracy enhancement. Experimental results show the good measurement accuracy of this new tool
