Abstract
The Paper first briefly describes the construction and general mechanical details of crystal rectifiers and then goes on to consider their application at microwave frequencies. The design of a crystal frequency changer for a centimetric superheterodyne receiver is discussed in detail and the first section concludes with a consideration of crystal detectors in microwave detector receivers, both with and without amplifiers. The second part of the Paper considers crystal rectifiers for lower frequencies than microwaves; firstly, as second detectors in superheterodyne receivers and then as rectifiers for meters and other general applications.
