Abstract
This book, intended for the graduate level, covers the relevant mathematical methods followed by power system applications. This second edition´s inclusion of new material, namely, generalized minimal residual (GERES) methods, numerical differentiation, secant method, homotopy and continuation methods, power method for calculating dominate eigenvalues, singular-value decomposition method and pseudo-inverses, and matrix pencil method enriches the book. The book is limited to steady-state and dynamic analysis and studies only. The book has many positive contributions to be recommended as a textbook for a senior- or graduate-level course. The mathematical rigor throughout the book and the inclusion of many simple examples and problems at the end of each chapter is creditable.
