Abstract
A model that patterns software manufacturing after hardware manufacturing is presented. The model introduces a testing and analysis station between each development phase. At each station, the incoming product is tested and failure data are analyzed and compared with the quality criteria used. The decision is then made whether to proceed to the next phase or repair the software. A case study showing how the model was applied to a back-end process is presented.<>
