  • Abstract
    Smart substation precise time includes time synchronization and application data transmission time delay or time performance of intelligent equipments. The precise time would ensure the power system stable and safety operation. All IEDs and communication networks of power system may generate time deviation and more data transmission time delay which will make substation operation unsafely. It is necessary for research and analysis time synchronization features and data transmission time delay or time performance of application. The smart substation mainly time synchronization technology includes PPS, IRIG-B, NTP and PTP (IEEE1588) etc. The smart substation application data includes GOOSE and SMV9-2 application data which need high time performance to make substation work more stable and quickly clean and isolate fault to decrease substation risk. To research and analyze time synchronization features and data transmission time delay or time performance of application data of power system would make us give more reasonable rules and suggestions for smart substation construction and operation.
