Abstract :
The paper describes the design considerations involved in meeting a specification for a superheterodyne receiver suitable for making subjective comparisons of amplitude and frequency modulation transmissions on very high frequencies. The reasons for the choice of particular circuits for r.f. amplifier, frequency changer, i.f. amplifier, detector, discriminator, noise limiters and audio frequency stages are dealt with in detail.
