Abstract :
In this paper the issue of teaching the mesh current method and node voltage method by a workshop teaching technique is presented. To this end, a didactic experiment was made, in order to compare traditional teaching method based on the individual student´s work at the blackboard with alternative one using teamwork techniques connected with the presentation of reached results. Six groups of students of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Power Engineering at AGH University of Science and Technology was involved in the experiment. In traditional method, exemplary circuits are presented and solved on a blackboard by the students with the discussion leaded by lecturer. In alternative method, students work in small groups and together try to find correct solution of the problem. To make an experiment more accurate, in some groups mesh method was taught in “blackboard system” and nodal method in “workshop system”, while in other groups it was made in opposite way. Students learning progress for both methods and authors conclusions are presented.
