Abstract :
This article introduces an advanced system for power system automated fault analysis, accurate fault location and extensive power quality monitoring based on a digital fault recorder (DFR) infrastructure. Existing DFRs can be modified to provide the required data acquisition features. The existing communication network and processing power can be extended to accommodate the required data acquisition, processing and analysis. New software can be developed to accomplish the automated analysis
