Abstract :
A simplified approach to the analysis of the patterns of a cylindrical spiral patch array is presented. In this approach, the patch element is characterized using the cavity model and the radiation patterns for each element are calculated, assuming it is mounted on a flat surface, while the curvature effects are considered in the patterns of the array. Some numerical results and experimental data are presented. The validity of the calculation is demonstrated by comparison with measured data
