  • Abstract
    A general description of Geiger, proportional and scintillation counters is given from the viewpoint of the types useful for low energy detection. It is shown how each detector may be designed to give maximum efficiency at a particular X-ray energy while taking into account the limitations that exist in the three different types of detector.
