Application of television in industry and science in the U.S.S.R.

A classification is given of various fields employing television in industry and science. Television sets developed in the Soviet Union for the purpose of remote checking and control are briefly described. Examples of the application of television in medicine, metallurgy and railway transport are considered. Some practical results of the application of television in the automation of manufacturing processes and in scientific investigations are also discussed. In conclusion, basic (rends are outlined for further efforts which are planned in the Soviet Union.
