            Abstract : 
We present a theoretical and experimental evaluation of any general order harmonic distortion in a slow and fast light propagation phase shifter based on coherent population oscillations in a semiconductor optical amplifier device. Different optical filtering implementations are proposed for enhancing the performance of microwave photonic phase shifters.
