Abstract :
The correlations of the extent of the melting region with the reflectivity Z measured immediately below the melting layer and the rain rate R near the ground in stratiform and convective precipitation are reported. A total number of 2169 range-height indicator (RHI) scans recorded by the S-band Chilbolton advanced meteorological radar (CAMRa) have been used for this study
