Abstract :
In severely frequency selective channels, single carrier modulation with traditional iterative block decision feedback equalization (IBDFE) could not resolve the noise enhancement at certain frequency, thus spreads the error over the whole data block. The paper proposes a simple way to overcome this difficulty by introducing receiver diversity into the traditional IBDFE with hard detection. Also an iterative method for suboptimal parameter estimation is used, thus the scheme is implementable. Simulation on DTMB single carrier modulation shows that given the perfect channel estimation, the performance is impressive and computational complex is acceptable.
