Abstract :
Describes the long-cavity multiple-phase-shift distributed feedback (MPS-DFB) laser diode with three phase shifts in the corrugation for linewidth narrowing. Stable single-mode operation up to 30 mW and narrow linewidth of 830 kHz were obtained for a 1.2 mm cavity MPS-DFB laser.
