            Abstract : 
An extension of morphology-based image coding is presented. To achieve better coding efficiency neighbour coefficients are included in the significance map predictor and different subband quantisers are employed to achieve the optimal quantiser for each subband in a rate-distortion sense. Experimental results show that about 0.4-0.7 dB peak signal-to-noise ratio gain can be obtained
