Taking Heat [Microwave Bytes]

One of my original goals in writing this column was to be somewhat controversial; rattle a few cages and hopefully stimulate some lively correspondence. But other than the odd tirade into metamaterials, I seem to have managed to keep to generally calmer waters. Perhaps the fact that so many times I manage to steer the chosen topic into my own familiar backyard of RF power amplifiers (actually, it usually happens the other way around, the article steers me as it progresses!), I manage to get away with the few questionable pronouncements.
