  • Abstract
After a short survey of conventional implementations based on extensive use of high-speed hardware (mainly counters, adders and ROMs), state-of-the-art generators using software algorithms on digital signal processors are presented. The properties of the different methods and algorithms are given and compared with respect to their accuracy and total harmonic distortions (THD), including the influence of rounding and truncation that causes calculation errors.
