Abstract :
This paper describes a new H∞ track-following controller design for a magnetic head positioning mechanism in hard disk drives. The proposed controller design scheme is constructed under the conditions of a digital controller, low sampling frequency and no anti-alias filter. The in-phase positioning mechanism is chosen as an example, which was proposed by the authors in a previous study. The validity of the proposed controller design scheme is shown with a derived digital controller and our in-phase positioning mechanism
