Abstract :
Electronics has many applications in mines. Explosive atmosphere limits its uses. A brief description of mining practice is given. A brief review of various instruments that are employed in mines, such as methanorneters, E.L.S.I.E. Defectograph, Inductophone are presented. Mention has been made of intrinsic safety conditions to be satisfied by instruments for underground use.
