Abstract :
The frequency of a 1.55 mu m-range GaInAsP lambda /4-shifted DFB laser is locked to the resonant frequencies of a confocal etalon of which the mirror spacing is stabilised with a frequency-stabilised HeNe laser. An Allan variance of less than 10-11 was achieved for averaging times longer than 1 s without frequency modulation of the laser diode.
