    Recently, Shao (see IEE Proc. Comput. Digit. Tech., vol. 145, no. 1, p. 33-36, 1998) proposed a new signature scheme which is based on two hard problems. It is shown that this scheme is vulnerable to attack. A simple attack is also presented
