Abstract :
The realization that most environmental vibration includes random motion has led to new techniques for analysis and simulation. The most important parameters of analysis are spectral density and amplitude distribution; these are denned and analysis methods indicated. Limitations of analysis due to non-stationarity and sampling errors are mentioned, and the methods of finding test levels are described. The simulation of random motion and its attendant difficulties are considered.
