Abstract :
In this paper, reconfigurable computing system architecture is researched. A library-based image processing system is proposed. The operation modules with similar functions are packaged as a basic library and the connection among them is a reconfigurable mesh framework that can be configured by a central controller, from which the adopted operation modules could be mapped to the mesh with asuitable method under different applications. Circuit-switched transferring is inserted in each node for its advantage of high processing speed. It also makes the connection more flexible and scalable. A new kind of mapping and routing algorithm called GBPD is also designed. An image preprocessor applied in two different occasions is adopted as an example to illustrate the feasibility of the system structure and the simulation result shows that a reduction of 15% in hardware resources can be reached.
