Abstract :
Delta doping is presented as a new, simple but efficient method for the electric decoupling of optical DH waveguides for example in directional coupler switches. A layer doped as highly as possible but appropriately thin guarantees efficient electrical insulation without degradation of the optical controllability. This behaviour is shown in a field-effect transistor.
