Abstract
A 30-Mc/s receiver is described for use in pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus. The receiver is designed to have a good signal/noise ratio, as well as rapid recovery from a pulse overload. Various types of stagger-tuned arrangements are examined theoretically, and it is shown that for optimum results the poles of the amplifier transfer function should coincide with the roots of a Bessel polynomial. An amplifier designed on this principle is described, and is shown to have characteristics which are in agreement with theoretical predictions.
