Abstract :
A CMOS-based neural interface device with an integrated blue light-emitting diode array is proposed and demonstrated. The device is designed with target applications in optogenetics in neural and medical sciences, in which local light stimulation of living cells plays a significant role. The design, packaging, and functional demonstrations of the device are presented.
