Abstract :
A method of achieving an exact wide-band Chebyshev response in a full-section filter is described, in which the dissipation for each arm is taken into account. The work follows on from that of Mole, in which the shunt dissipation is assumed to be zero. A similar treatment has been carried out by Head, in which the design parameters are presented in a series form. The method of analysis employed by the author is less elegant, for the case considered, than that of Dishal, but has the advantage of being more direct, and providing a simpler expression for attenuation. Graphs are included which indicate the correct dissipation for each arm and the insertion loss of the filter in terms of the normalized terminations and shunt conductance.
