Abstract :
The paper presents a new method for measuring the peak voltage characterized by a high accuracy. It is based on an integrating analog-to-digital converter. After a brief description of the causes of uncertainty of the method, the criteria of their evaluation are shown. The main characteristics of the used sampling and acquisition system are reported. The method is applied to alternating voltage in the case of distorted waveform also, showing that it can be considered a reference in peak voltage measuring. The results are compared with those obtained by a measuring system based on a different principle: a good agreement between the two methods was found
