Abstract
Hypermedia systems offer a way of managing large quantities of information by mapping the high-level relationships between underlying elements. But developing hypermedia in the context of industrial applications demands new methodologies. This article discusses some of the hurdles in the path of introducing industrial-strength hypermedia, looking at issues involved in designing, linking and delivery across the manufacturing enterprise
