Abstract :
Fermilab is developing 11 T superconducting dipole magnets for future accelerators based on Nb3Sn conductors. Multifilamentary Nb3Sn strands 1 mm in diameter produced with the modified jelly roll and powder-in-tube technologies were purchased from OST and SMI respectively. They are herein fully characterized by I c, n-value, residual resistivity ratio, and magnetization. Results of heat treatment optimization studies are also presented for the OST strand
