Abstract :
The effect of MR nonlinearities on the extracted dipulse method has been studied. The study shows that there is a strong relationship between MR nonlinearities arising from soft adjacent layer (SAL) thickness or MR bias current variation and measured nonlinear transition shift echo amplitude (NLTS). A formation of a new echo is observed in the extracted dipulse spectrum in the case of high MR nonlinearities
