Abstract :
The observation of intense, magnetic-field tunable, spin-flip Raman scattering in indium antimonide, pumped at two wavelengths, namely, 10.6 ¿m and 5-3 ¿m is reported. The observed tuning range is 9 ¿m to 14 ¿m, and 5.4 ¿m to 5.7 ¿m; the physical processes and experimental techniques are described, and possibilities for extension of the tuning range are discussed. Some future applications of such an intense infra-red source are mentioned.
