Abstract :
The paper presents field measurements of surge characteristics of a concrete pole, a buried single conductor and a grounding net for high-impulse currents with a maximum magnitude of 40 kA and with a wavefront duration of a few microseconds. The measured results show that the grounding resistances are greatly dependent on the applied currents and have a hysteresis characteristic. Finally, it is made clear that the grounding resistance has an energy dependence
